Question: For about 5 days now, I've been having moderate pain in my lower right abdominal/side area. I had my appendix removed about 5 years ago after it ruptured. A very small piece of my colon was removed at the same time. What could be causing this pain?

Brief Answer:
This could be pain due to adhesions.

Detailed Answer:
Welcome to HCM. With the information you have provided, the remaining offenders could be adhesions, these are sort of webs of tissue that grow after instrumentation/surgery and can twist your bowels and cause pain, obviously depending on your age, this could be infection/gastroenteritis or divertilular disease which normally presents with left lower quadrant pain. I hope this helps. Good luck
