What Causes Mood Swings After Stopping Premarin?

Question: I have stopped taking the .3 dosage of Premarin about 6 weeks ago. I had a hysterectomy almost 7 years ago and have gradually gone off and on Premarin but I do not plan to take it again. I also take Klonopin for mild anxiety, .5 mg twice daily. Could it be possible to attribute a change in mood, appetite, and somewhat feeling down to stopping the Premarin I was taking cold turkey? I have also recently stopped caffeine to evaluate what seemed to be an irregular heart beat.

Hi dear and thanks for your query.

You can stop take of premarin because it have no side effect in changing mood,appetite.
By not using the premarin that is hormon(estrogen)you may have other symptoms,like as in menopause(hot flashes,vaginal atrophy ect) but no all the symptoms that you describe.

These side effect you describe ,as my opinion have relation with klonopin.
Related to recent data some patient can have all these symptoms after they have used klonopin
