Brief Answer:
Need long term treatment.

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX
Thanks for your query.
I appreciate your efforts for medical consultation in so much distress.

Important aspects of your query are:
• 29 year old female
• Treatment history: Took Asprito-10 mg then Ariphrenz-5 mg
• Complains of: Poor sleep, mooching around, laughing unnecessary.
• Worry related to treatment duration and marriage.

From your given symptoms, it appear that you are having mood swing problem, which require regular treatment specially in presence of recurrent episodes like in your case. Both of your psychiatrist had given you aripiprazole (Asprito and Ariphrenz). According to me also, currently you are receiving very good medicine with least side effects.

It is better to take regular medicine. In my view take it at-least for 5 years (life long treatment is much better) due to following reasons:
-You are responding to medicine which is very safe and having least side effect.
-High chances of recurrence of symptoms after stoppage of treatment.

You can marry during/with treatment, but it is always better to tell about your problem before marriage.

I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
Wishing her good health.
Regards

Brief Answer:
It depend condition of person

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for follow up

Use or stoppage of psychotropic medicines in pregnancy is a complex decision. Usually medicines are not preferred during pregnancy, specially in first trimester (1st 3 months). But some psychiatric illnesses (like you have) are chronic illnesses and may recur after stoppage of medicines, which can be more harmful for baby due to ignorance by mother during pregnancy.

In the final decision risk benefit analysis need to be done.
Following parameters are taken into account while taking final decision:
-current medicines,
-duration of illness,
-stressors in life,
-duration of remission,
-severity of past episodes,
-history of relapse after drug discontinuation
-social support system.

You can discus all these issues with your psychiatrist while taking final decision around pregnancy as this decision will depend on multiple above mentioned factors.

Wishing her good health.
Regards

Brief Answer:
Always better to take regular supervised treatment

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for follow up again.

This illness occurs due to neurotransmitters imbalance in brain. It occurs in around 1-2% of population. In many cases no cause found for the illness. So does not feel guilty.

Yes, stressers play the role in increasing illness severity and frequency. Loss of job and marital problems are common in patients, so it is always better to take regular supervised treatment.

Wishing you good health.
