Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX Welcome back to HCM,
I've gone through your query and understand your concern,
First of all, please note that antibiotics therapy is not indicated in viral infection, however since throat infection was there, it can be initiated..please let me know which antibiotic did you take and at what dosage.. Have you consulted any doctor any taking them ?
Well, IBS is a clinical diagnosis, since you've mentioned that your having it for past 5 years, I believe that it was diagnosed by a Gastroenterologist only.. was any colonoscopy done for this before ? or any other investigations ? - feel free to share the details..
Yes, all these current symptoms (weakness, dehydration, feverish feelings) all are secondary to the dehydration and electrolyte loss after the infection..
You need to start replenishing fluid, start hydrating yourself, drink a lot of water (~ 3 Ltr mineral/ U.V.R.O water).. additionally you need to take WHO-ORS 1 XXXXXXX , dissolve it in 1 Ltr of Mineral water , drink it up gradually over next 4-5 Hrs, followed by another XXXXXXX dissolved in another Ltr of mineral water and drink that up over next 12 hrs..then observe yourself and if you still feel weak/ thirsty/ feverish but no temperature/ less urine output than usual, then repeat the same process for another 24 hrs..it should subside with it only..
Have only home cooked simple meals, curd/yogurt based diet for the time being.. drink hot liquids (eg. soups, broths, porridge etc.) it'll help you to recover quickly..
Take rest for next few days at home..
If indigestion is too much bothering, then start taking Cap PANTOPRAZOLE/DOMPERIDONE (40/30) mg (PAN-D) Once daily 20-30 min prior to breakfast for next 15 days..
Just observe the frequency and consistency of the stool as of now for the next 24 hrs, if at all there's any loose motion then you may need to get Stool Routine microscopy and culture sensitivity done..
Do not start any unsupervised antibiotic without consulting a doctor..
If at all there's any fever later on then try to record the temperature firstly as well as the frequency, if associated with any chills/rigors, and report it to your nearby physician to get a prompt clinical check-up and a few other relevant investigations (a CBC, Peripheral blood smear, LFT, Electrolytes and tropical infection work-up)..management will be done accordingly as per the findings..
Let me know if there's any further queries..
Take Care
Kind Regards

I got a blood test and urine test done. Attached test results. The IBS was diagnosed by a gastroenterologist. I got a colonoscopy done too but the results are not with me however it did not turn out anything significant. I had taken Ayurvedicmedicine for some time but now have stopped it.
follow as already advised..

Welcome Back XXXXXXX
Thanks for following up with these details,
I've seen the report, it's only CBC attached here which is grossly nothing too significant with just a fractional variation of some of the values, don't worry about them..
Follow all the advises as already explained..it should get better..
It's fine since colonoscopy finding didn't reveal anything significant, however cant comment on ayurveda as it's not our branch of speciality..good that you've stooped it now..
Keep hydrating yourself as already advised along with the other advises.. If at all there's any fever later on then try to record the temperature firstly as well as the frequency, if associated with any chills/rigors, and report it to your nearby physician to get a prompt clinical check-up and a few other relevant investigations (a repeat CBC, Peripheral blood smear, LFT, Electrolytes and tropical infection work-up)..management will be done accordingly as per the findings..
Let me know how you stay in the due course..
Take Care
Kind Regards
