Brief Answer:
Bowel infection

Detailed Answer:
Hi there,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I am Dr.Barani and I am pleased to assist you.

Some amount of mucus in stool can be considered normal.
Increased amount of mucus in stool occurs if there is colitis or irritable bowel syndrome.

Recent onset of short duration explosive bowel movements with increased mucus could be due to bowel infection causing colitis. Stool analysis may be done for confirmation.

Meanwhile take probiotic supplements.

(I presume you had normal bowel movements before.
And during the present episode you are not passing hard stools initially followed by loose stools)
Let me know if you have any more questions.

Regards,
Dr.Barani
