What Causes Multiple Subcentimetric Periumbilical Lymph Nodes In A 4 Year Old Child?

It is a common condition in children with abdominal pain.
Detailed Answer:
Dear Trivedi ji, Hi & Welcome.
Thanks for posting your concern on HCM.
Gone through the brief history & the uploaded result of the abdominal ultrasound scan done on January 16, 2016.
Normally subcentimetric periumbilical lymph nodes are not seen during imaging. Their enlargement in the peri umbilical region are most commonly caused by infection of intestine or lymph nodes itself. The features described in the report are suggestive of lymphadenopathy which can occur due to inflammation or infection (viral, bacterial (including tuberculosis) or parasitic diseases) or malignancy. Your daughter needs to be clinically evaluated to rule out infections by certain lab tests like CBC, ESR, Stool analysis, Mantoux test, and Chest X ray.
Treatment of underlying etiology should be done after confirmation of cause.
Hope to have answered your query.
However, if you have any follow up query I will be glad to answer it.
Best regards.
Get well soon.

The given results of lab tests done last year are normal.
Detailed Answer:
Dear Trivedi ji,
Thanks for your reply.
Gone through the uploaded reports of various lab tests done during September-October last year.
Urine, Stool (faeces) examination, and CBC are found to be normal.
However the ultrasound done earlier shows very few mesenteric lymph nodes with the largest measuring 5 mm. Where as the last ultrasound done on January 16, 2016 shows multiple mesenteric lymph nodes with largest measuring 9.7 x 4.3 mm.
Can you please provide the following details:
1. For how long she has been suffering from the problem of abdominal pain, vomiting, etc.?
2. Is she suffering from cough, fever, sweating, loss of appetite or weight loss?
3. What about her bowel habits? regular or constipated?
Awaiting your reply so as to analyse the condition properly and to give a suggestion.
Regards.

Suspicious of tuberculosis.
Detailed Answer:
Dear Trivedi ji,
Thanks for your reply.
I really can appreciate your concerns for your beloved daughter.
After having gone through the history given in previous quiries and the relevant lab tests done during September-October 2015 and ultrasound scan done on January 16, 2016 I am of the opinion that she seems to be having a chronic infection- ?Tuberculosis of the mesenteric lymph nodes.
I, therefore advise you to take an opinion of a child specialist for further evaluation and treatment.
Hope the suggestion given above would be useful in getting her proper treatment.
Wishing your daughter a smooth and quick recovery.
Regards.
