What Causes Muscle Twitching In Calf And Blurred Vision Despite Having Normal MRI?
Multiple sclerosis is excluded.
Detailed Answer:
Hello and thanks for using HCM.
I have read your question and understand your concerns.
Multiple sclerosis is excluded since tests (MRI, spinal tap etc.) resulted negative.
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis ( ALS ) is more probable in this case than MS, however, since there are other symptoms such confusion, headaches and EMG resulted negative, those symptoms may be related to anxiety and stress disorder too.
ALS doesn't affect the senses and thinking ability.
In addition, progressive muscles weakness is the main symptom in ALS as disease progresses.
In my opinion, your symptoms are only partially compatible with ALS diagnosis.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards.
Other possible causes should be considered/excluded.
Detailed Answer:
Welcome back.
As I mentioned before, the hallmark symptom of ALS is progressive muscles weakness.
The muscles affected include legs and hands, swallowing and breathing muscles and speech musculature.
I didn't mean to scare you, multiple sclerosis is a condition that may be confirmed, or excluded by tests, but there are no specific tests to confirm or exclude completely ALS.
Symptoms you describe can also be related to anxiety and stress disorder, neuromuscular diseases are a possibility too.
A detailed neurological examination is necessary to understand better your condition.
Hope this helps.
Greetings.
