What Causes Nausea And Right Upper Back Pain That Radiates While Breathing?
Question: Hello,
So I've recently had this right upper back pain (near my right shoulder), but I cannot tell if it's visceral or muscular. I did some yardwork two days ago which entailed a bit of leaning over. I've also had some nausea since then as well (I'm curious if this is because of how unhealthy I've been eating; chocolate, processed meat, etc). The back pain will sometimes be accented when I breathe in deep, along with this upper stomach/lower esophageal nausea. I just cannot tell if it's muscular or not. I had a colonoscopy about two weeks ago, an endoscopy about six months ago, and an MRI, all came back normal.
I'm wondering if this is something serious or just a combo of yardwork and unhealthy eating?

Brief Answer:
Visceral or muscular pain
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Why did you get the colonoscopy, endoscopy done? Do you have GERD? Why was gall bladder removed? Do you have problems after removing it?
If there is nausea that it is likely to be visceral in origin. It may be related to your gut.
Deep breathing can aggravate the pain.
You can test yourself. Apply BENGAY, hot packs and take Ibuprofen two doses for a day and check if the pain subsides does not recur in 48 hours after stopping these. If it does not recur and subsides it can be muscular else it is visceral.
If it is visceral please see a doctor.

I've been having RUQ pain for a few years with no answer (had a few CTs and one MRI done before). So I wanted an endoscopy (to get an answer for this pain) and my doc recommended a colonoscopy due to a blood test result coming back elevated (the one that indicates possible crohns disease), but no evidence was found during either the endoscopy or colonoscopy.
My doctor said that I do not have GERD.
Gallbladder was removed 13 years ago because it was excruciatingly painful and full of stones. I did not have problems after gallbladder removal until about 2 years ago.
I don't know what else to do because my gastroenterologist has ruled everything out with both of the camera procedures and the imaging (CT, MRI). My fear is/was that it's something cancerous but after all of this workup, nothing has been found at all.

Brief Answer:
Muscular
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Please do as suggested and rule out muscular pain. What symptoms you started having for last 2 yrs?
Omit full fat diet. There is slow digestion of fat since you lack gall bladder. Eat small and multiple meals.

Mid-level right and left back pain and a general nausea (although the nausea has been occurring for months). I can't tell if it's from working out a few days ago but it's present nonetheless. If I've had all of these scans and endoscopy/colonoscopy & they're all fine, does that most likely rule out anything really serious, like cancer?
Brief Answer:
Cancer should not be reason now
Detailed Answer:
Cancer does not come to mind when I listen to such symptoms. At least we should think of most possible reasons before moving to cancer.
Besides they had done investigations to prove non cancerous.
