Er Dr discharged her. Did not listen to chest or heart and very minimally touched the patient. Non other tests ordered to rule out other things.
Was wondering what this could be if not appendicitis? Epipcoil appendagitis? Pneumonia? The pain isn't getting better, pain meds do not relieve pain
I hope, CT scan reveals the diagnosis.
Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your query about a 11 year girl.
I have read the history fully and understood the concerns.
With the history and the results of tests you have provided my thoughts are as follows:
The most probable reason can be retro-cecal appendicitis, means the appendix is behind the cecum (the initial part of the large bowel).
This is easily missed by ultrasound.
Hence the need of CT scan of the abdomen.
CT scan show the retrocecal appendicitis, retroperitoneal and muscular problems if any.
This can not be due to pneumonia- not so low pain or Epipcoil appendagitis= not so severe and so many symptoms.
I hope this answer helps the girl to get a proper diagnosis and further management.
Please give feedback of CT scan Report.
