What Causes Neck Pain, Burning Sensation Underneath The Jawline And Shoulder Area?

Question: I am 42 year old male who is diabetic with high blood pressure and overweight. I take Invokana (300mg), Janumet (1000mg), Atenelol(50mg) and Amilodipine (10mg) and a baby aspirin daily.
I am experiencing neck discomfort/burning sensation underneath my jawline, side of my neck and shoulder area. In my previous questions, I also describe having a feeling of blood rushing to my heart when I lay down on my arm (either side) after a few seconds (although this happens to me once or twice every couple of weeks) when I try to sleep (my doctor said is due to my diabetes, I think it happens when I am dehydrated).
My blood pressure is still giving me problems. My diastolic number is usually 100-105 but comes down when I take multiple blood pressure medication. My systolic number is 150-159. I get down to around 145/93 when my medication kicks in.
I had a nuclear stress test in August of 2015-negative. A Carotid ultrasound done in Oct of 2015-negative. A EKG in January of 2016-negative and an Echo in April of 2016-negative.
Is this discomfort due to a less serious such as inflamation in the neck (an MRI of my neck last year revealed that I have bulging discs from C1-C7 of my vertebrae)?
I was thinking about taking prescription ibuprofen (800mg) but was afraid to take a NSAID given my blood pressure issues and the numerous medication I am already taking.
Also-second question-I keep hearing the term "accidential overdose" being used in the media. It has me concerned with the long term effects of the amount of medication I am taking daily. Should this be a concern am I taking this term out of context?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Brief Answer:
Due to pressure or pinch on the nerves supplying the arm
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Welcome and thanks for your query.
Since you have bulging discs in the neck, the pinch or pressure from them is the likely cause of the peculiar sensation you feel radiating down the arm.
NSAIDs like Ibuprofen can lead to salt retention and increase in blood pressure and can have deleterious effects on the kidneys and liver.
Neurontin will reduce this sensation along with physiotherapy.
