What Causes Neck Pain With Severe Headache?
Question: Hi, I have had neck pain which caused a severe headache that lasted two days. My neck pain is not as bad now. However, I keep getting very dizzy (like head-rush feeling) with just more of an achy neck. I woke up this morning and added to the neck discomfort and dizziness I now have sharp pains shooting through out center to lower back Sometime the pain is so intense it makes me feel nauseous. My thighs hurt and feel weak when standing or walking and a cramping kind of discomfort in left shoulder and upper arm. Once in a while a pain will shoot down arm to wrist. My so called restless legs, which used to only bother me at night, are now bothersome during day as well with leg jumping/ jerking. What is going on with me. CT scan w/out contrast was done two days ago at ER They said everything looked fine. What could be going on with me? Also, the 5 hours I was at ER they gave me two different muscle relaxers and pain medicine. It never helped my head and neck pressure, It finally eased off by end of next day. Concentration has also become a problem. I feel like my brain turns off.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.
You may be suffering from cervical radiculopathy or muscular spasm of neck muscles.
You should take pain killers like etoricoxib or Aceclofenac with thiocholchicoside or tizanidine.
You can also take pregabalin or gabapentin or amitryptiline.
Local pain reliever ointment can be used too.
Avoid any overhead excessive load, lifting heavy objects.
The symptoms will improve with time.
