Question: What is the reason for needle like pain in the lower left of the stomach, under my ribs?

The pain is not very sharp or very deep or painful, but its just unpleasant like someone poking me with a needle.

What could be the reasons for these needle like pains?.

I was also experiencing a light burning sensation while urinating but it has gone away since I stop drinking coffee and alcohol.

Brief Answer:
Possibility of Gastritis

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome to Healthcaremagic
Greetings of the day

Going by description of your symptoms it is likely to be due to Gastritis. Inadequate intake of water while taking substance which have diuretic like action like coffee and alcohol could cause burning sensation while passing urine.
I would suggest you the following

1. Ensure good intake of water : 2 to 3 liter a day

2. High fiber diet

3. Trial of antacid like Pantoprozole which is available as over the counter

4. Urine routine and microscopic examination to rule out urinary tract infection

Do consult your physician for clinical assessment if symptoms persist

Take care
