Question: Hello, my name is xxxxx XXXXXXX and I just feel like everywhere I go, people assume that I am stupid. I was valedictorian in high school, and score in the 99.9th percentile on standardized tests. I got on the waiting list to Harvard my XXXXXXX year. So why do people think that I'm stupid. Like one time I asked this guy why he was looking at me, and he said, "You're a fool." This was a complete stranger who didn't know my grades or anything. And one time I overheard a guy at the mall say "She's stupid. She's a dumbass." And he was also a complete stranger who didn't know my grades. And then one time another patient when I was at a hospital called me a retard, and she had never been to school with me or had one class with me or seen my transcript. And then one time one person in a chat room who had never even met me called me a retard and left the chat room. And I feel like the general public, as in strangers, always act like I'm stupid or look at me like I'm stupid. Like if I make the wrong guess about someone, they act like I'm stupid. For example, if I think they are about to go to the bathroom, and they actually end up going to the desk to talk to the secretary, people look at me like I'm stupid. Or if there is someone already in the bathroom, and I didn't know that, people act like I'm stupid. Or one time, I was at an emergency room, and a lady was talking on the phone, and then she hung up, and then a phone rang, and I thought it was hers, but it was actually mine which was in my purse, and she looked at me like I was stupid and then looked at her son. They both acted like I was stupid and like it was incomprehensible to them that someone would make a mistake like that. She thought it was hers at first too. That reaction doesn't make any sense because half the people I know forget their cell phones somewhere. And they don't get treated like they are stupid for it. I mean I can multiply three digit numbers in my head faster than anyone I know, and I won all kinds of math and science awards when I was in school. So could you please tell me why people assume that I'm stupid.
