What Causes Night Sweats And Burning Sensation Around The Neck?

Question: It started off with night sweats around my neck. Now it has a burning sensation also. Recently it has spread to my arms and body without the sweats. I was taking pexeva for anxiety disorder. My dr. and I thought I might be able to quit taking it. so I have been off of it for about 8 months. Could these symptoms have to do with anxiety? They are not the symptoms I had when the Psychiatrist put me on the pexeva.

Symptoms you mentioned suggest following possibilities.

-They are something related to some nerve related problems. It may be local neuropathy caused by cervical nerve problems or vitamin B12 deficiency.

- There may be possibility of thyroid related problem like hyperthyroidism.

- These symptoms can be caused by pexeva but you are not on pexeva since 8 months so no possibility of the same.

- These may be part of some anxiety problem but in that case some associated anxiety symptoms and relation to stress should be present.

You should undergo serum vitamin B12 level and thyroid function tests.

Also let me know since when are you suffering from these symptoms? Immediately after stopping pexeva?
