Question: I am confused - thought I already asked it. I had thyroid ablated in 2012. Just had my levels checked last week; and the labs came back with them in normal range. With the symptoms I am having, I thought my levels are off. Not certain what to ask doctor next week. Symptoms: night sweats, freeze during day, dark circle under eyes, hair falling out "a lot daily", fall asleep for an hour or two then spend rest of night trying to get back to sleep, muscle spasms, cry/emotional, and agitated, throat at base of neck aches (like throat punched), also when tired my voice gets week. What should I ask the doctor to do?

Brief Answer:
Thyroid

Detailed Answer:
Sorry to learn about your symptoms.

If indeed your thyroid lab test are normal, then other reasons for your symptoms need to be explored such as uncontrolled diabetes, vitamin D deficiency or disturbance in your blood electrolyte levels.

When I see someone like you in my practice, I typically order the following blood tests in addition to a detailed physical examination:

CBC
Electrolytes
Calcium
HbA1c (Glycosylated Hemoglobin = your 3 month glucose average)
Liver function tests
Kidney function tests
25 hydroxy Vitamin D
