What Causes Nose Bleeds After A Cardiac Ion Ablation?
Question: My husband had a cardiac ion ablation done this past Wednesday. The cryo method was used. He is having a nosebleed right now, and he never has those. Is it related to the ablation? He takes Xarelto.

The nose bleed in all probability is not due to the procedure and in likelihood due to Xarelto which is an anti coagulant. I would request you to stop further dose and consult your doctor.
Xarelto is a newer anti coagulant and does not have an antidote yet so we can not afford a overdose.
Mostly your doctor will change the drug. Also, I would like to reassure you that though nasal bleed may be significant, you don't have to panic.
Still, prevention is always better in this case.
