What Causes Numb Feet Post Vitamin B12 Withdrawal?
Question: Hi, I have MS and stopped taking B12, doctors orders. Since then my feet have gone numb and my feet and ankles are very swollen. Could the lack of B12 have anything to do with this?
Brief Answer:
B12 has nothing to do with it
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
B12 is a vitamin that accumulates in the body and won't disappear immediately after stopping taking it. Besides that, lack of B12 is not supposed to cause swellings. Since you've mentioned MS, have you taken any corticosteroids?
Corticosteroids may cause sodium and water retention, which in turn may cause your feet and ankle to swell.
