Posted on Tue, 15 Apr 2014
Question: I am having numbness on both feet in the area just before the toes, on the underside. The sensation is similar to an after burn or scald, when tissue seems dulled. Condition is several weeks old and constant. I am unaware of a triggering incident.

Brief Answer: This can be neuropathy Detailed Answer: Hello , I have read your case and came to this conclusion that you might be having neuropathy. It can be because of these causes: 1. It can be vitamin B 12 deficiency. It is a possibility as you have gone through multiple surgeries. 2. Peripheral neuropathy due to hypothyroidism. 3. There is also chance of nerve pinching at spine due to disc herniation. So to find out the cause in your case,I would recommend you to show it to a neurologist. He may ask for following investigations. 1.T3,T4, TSH 2. Serum B12 estimation. 3.Spine X ray Till you meet neurologist, I would suggest you to take Pregabalin and Methylcobal : one tablet at night time. These tablets will help you in symptomatic relief and nerve regeneration. Let me know if i can answer any other queries for you. Thanks and take care.
