Question : Sleepy, numbness, and swelling at injection site after shooting meth

Brief answer....nothing to worry as you should be all right in a day or two
Detailed answer...
Hello,
Thanks for the query.
While injecting in a vein, you sometimes scrape the inner lining and causing a puncture in it resulting in local swelling and numbness.Local swelling is produced as a result of leak of blood from vein and causing a local collection of blood in the surrounding tissues.
You may apply some cool pack locally n the swelling few times a day.
This swelling and numbness would go away in next 24-48 hours.
This is not at all serious and there is nothing to worry about it.
Just make sure to avoid this vein for next 5-7 days.
I hope this helps, however you may revert to me for any further query.
Best of luck
Thanks
