What Causes Numbness In Arms And Fingers Along With Along With Nerve Pain?

Question: For the last two years my arm ,and fingers have been numb ,I do have feeling on the inside of my arm .above my elbow is numb to .sometimes I have shooting pains .regular pain meds do not help .they have put me on cimbalta ,for nerve pain ,very expensive medication ,I have no drug plan. I have had MRI s neck and spine , they told me nothing to be concerned about . The pain and numbness continues .almost afraid to ask my doctor more questions . Thank you

Hello,
I have studied your case. There are few conditions which can cause such symptoms.
1. Cervical spondylitis - most common cause if tingling and numbness in hand. You are saying that MRI is normal, which is quite strange. If possible please send MRI report to me if possible.
2.other cause can be nerve compression in shoulder. It can be confirmed by EMG test.
3. It can be neuropathy due to lack of B 12.
I would suggest you to get your serum B 12 , EMG and repeat MRI of neck and shoulder. I'd there is nerve compression presented on these tests than it can be treated with either nerve block injections or vitamin supplements.

EMG test was done .short answered by the doctor , I don't have anything to compare it to and I can't do nothing for you .the pain can be some days a 10
It feels like electric shocks
