Question: My doctor is replacing amlodipine with hydralazine because I was experiencing some numbness on my head while taking amlodipine . I am not so sure that amlodipine was the cause for my symptom; assuming that I am correct , will switching to hydralazine could in anyway be a wrong move.

Brief answer:
Amlodipine is unlikely to cause numbness in head

Detailed answer:

Hello,
Amlodipine is unlikely to cause numbness in head, so I think it should not be replaced. Hydralazine is not a wrong move, but we have better choices like if you are taking Losartan 50 then it can be increased to 100 mg, tab Metoprolol xr 25 mg if pulse rate is more than 70, next choice would be prazosin 5 mg. However, if your doctor is insisting and comfortable with it, you can have it. So you discuss various options with your doctor.
