Brief Answer:
Allergic reaction/Neuropathy-is likely causing numb lips

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for being here on Healthcaremagic.com.
I am Dr.Ajay Panwar, a neurologist, here to answer your query.

Numb lips can result from various causes. Some of them may be physiological and some pathological. These etiologies can be-
1) Anxiety
2) Temperature changes (cold temperature)
3) Allergic reactions-like allergic to some food items, smoke or alcohol
4) Neuropathy-Some common causes of neuropathy are Diabetes, vitamins deficiency (commonly vitamin B12)

I would advise you to see if any of the first three reasons is applicable in your case. If yes, please try to identify the factor and revert it. If none out of these three causes are applicable-please get the following investigations done-
1) Blood sugar (fasting and post prandial)
2) Serum vitamin B12
And please start taking methylcobalamin formulation along with other multivitamins like- 'Neurobion forte'.

Furthermore, Low back pain near the kidneys, is probably resulting from causes that are distinct from those causing numbness in lips and these can be-
1) Non-specific musculoskeletal pain (this improves with back stretch exercises)
2) Renal stone
3) Ureteric colic
4) Referred pain from intra-abdominal inflammation like appendicitis
5) Para spinal causes like paraspinal abscess
6) Spinal degeneration or disc associated radiculopathies

Regarding back pain, I would like to ask you some pertinent questions-
1) Is the pain radiating to thighs or legs?
2) Does your partner have tingling or numbness in thighs or legs?

If answers to these questions is yes, please get a spine x-ray lower thoracic and lumbosacral spine (digital) done and revert back with reports.

If answers to these questions is no, please get an ultrasound abdomen done to rule out any pathology like renal stone, bladder stone or appendicitis, which can be treated further as diagnosed.

Hope I have answered your query. If you have follow-up queries, I shall be glad to answer else, please close the thread, rate it and write a review.
