ALLERGIC RHINITIS OR COMMON COLD
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thank you for posting your query in healthcaremagic.com
This is Dr. Swarnava dattagupta answering your query.
I understand your concern.
See, from your symptoms it looks like sneezing due to some allergic reaction or common cold. because of consistent sneezing, you are feeling some numbness in your nose. The absence of mucous and just some clear watery fluid associated with sneezing points towards allergic rhinitis. Your nasal mucosa is reddish because of the irritation and inflammation because of sneezing and running nose.
Now, you have asked whether it is symptom of swine flu. See, swine flu is a type of influenza and it will have fever, cough, body pain, fatigue, sore throat, headache etc which are absent in your case. And it cannot be diagnosed in such short period.
When patients with this symptom what you have complained come to me, i do symptomatic treatment at first. Mostly it cures the problem. I would suggest-
tab levocetrizine 5 twice daily or tab allegra 120 twice daily.
gargle with warm saline water twice daily.
take tab paracetamol 500 SOS if you develop fever.
You can talk to your doctor about this and also for the prescription of the above.
Hope i have answered your question.
If you have any further questions i will be happy to help.
Regards
CONTINUE THE MEDICATIONS
Detailed Answer:
Hello again.
Yes these are symptoms of allergic rhinitis.
Start taking the medicines I discussed.
See, one nose remains blocked in a person one at a time, this is normal in everyone, only if you block one nose, the other start acting.
Anyways, if it troubles you or you are in discomfort, try saline nasal drops or xylometazoline nasal drops.
