Brief Answer:
leg neuropathy management

Detailed Answer:
Hi xxxxxxxx.xxxxxxxxx, thanks for asking from HealthcareMagic.

I can understand your concern. You had a sudden onset of right leg numbness followed by right leg weakness. It should be taken as seriously and needs further evaluation.

You must consult a neurologist. S/he will examine you for neuropathy signs and will take the specific history about it, including:

- Is there any pain in back and radiation to lower limb?
- Is there any history of diabetes mellitus, chronic drug abuse, alcohol intake?
- Is there any history of painless wound/burn?

After that, s/he will examine your sensory and motor system to confirm about the deficit. To know the level of deficit and cause, few investigations are needed -

- Nerve conduction studies - It is to confirm about the damaged nerve.

- MRI lumbosacral spine to know about the nerve root, any lesion in the spine causing nerve damage.

- Vitamin B12 level, Blood sugar levels

After confirming the cause, treatment will be given accordingly.
You can send me your reports. I will guide you further.

If any doubts, do let me know.
Thanks.
Take care.
