Question: hello

overall i am feeling good, although afib, sleep apnea and gerd all these items are managed. just had colonoscopy and egd done. 1 polyp and stomach had z pattern but overall im good.

heres my question, about 3 years ago after walking alot at disney world i experienced hot, sensitive feeling left outer thigh. the major issues with touch eased after about 3 weeks but the odd numb feeling has stayed but not an issue. yesterday after being in crawl space the numbness became more. last night sleeping i was bothered and at one po in nt i moved fast and out of the blue i felt like i was being stabbed. it lasted about 10 seconds and it curled my toes giving me a XXXXXXX horse. it really scared me.

today still numb but what can i do. what can i take to ease numbness and never feel that pain again.

Brief Answer:
Possible neurovascular symptoms? Require further work up.

Detailed Answer:
Hello, Sir.

I can certainly understand your concern.

You possibly seem to experience mixed neurovascular symptoms.

It's very important to get a Colour Duplex Doppler ultrasound of the involved lower extremity.

It's also advisable to get a complete metabolic panel of tests like Blood Glucose, Electrolytes, Vitamin B12 and Thyroid hormone levels.

Further management if any is largely based on test results.

Post your further queries if any.
Thank you.

Hello,

I was doing some reading and found this "Meralgia Paresthetica". Should I see Doctor or Chiropractor? As I said there are a few common things. Both times have been while on vacation and doing alot of walking and exercise. yes i sit down at work in a office. Would an ice pack or heat work till I see provider? The biggest thing is I dont wont that sharp pain I experienced last night. Should i sleep with pillow under lumbar, sleep on back or curl up? Thats it....Thank you

Brief Answer:
Possible Meralgia Parasthetica? Advisable to see an Orthopaedic surgeon

Detailed Answer:
Hello, Madam.

I have worked through your concern.

Yes, indeed the possibility of Meralgia Parasthetica is high.

The diagnosis is often clinical and straightforward.

Additionally, it's important to get an MRI of the lower spine to rule out spinal cord or disc disease.

It's important that you see a doctor preferably an Orthopaedic surgeon.

Ice pack would offer temporary relief meanwhile.

It's advisable to sleep with pillow under the lower back.

Meanwhile for adequate pain relief, I advise you to go with Oral pills of Pregabalin 75 mg once daily at bedtime. Please check with your physician if he shares my view and if can prescribe these pills to you.

Post your further queries if any.

Thank you.
