What Causes Numbness In Throat And Lower Jaw With Swallowing Difficulty?
Question: I have surface numbness on the left side of my throat and lower jaw. It feels like a Novocain shot wearing off, my voice breaks up at times and experience difficulty swallowing. I had the condition for 3 1/2 years - first noticed numbness after a bronchoscope, the VA claims the procedure didn't cause the problem.

Though these symptoms can be due to nerve problems, however ENT examination should be done beforehand.
Once an ENT surgeon rules out ENT pathology,a trial of antineuralgic drugs should be given and the response should be observed for.
Please get back after ENT evaluation by asking the follow up query in the same thread.
