Question: I have developed numbness in my toes I am not a diabetic

Thank you for posting your query.

I have noted your symptoms. These are suggestive of peripheral neuropathy (a disease of nerves of feet).

I agree that you do not have diabetes, however, peripheral neuropathy can be the first manifestation of diabetes in a person not known to have diabetes. Therefore, you would require glucose tolerance test (GTT) to pick up pre-diabetes stage.

Also, you should undergo vitamin B 12 level estimation and thyroid profile testing to exclude their deficiency.

The severity of neuropathy can be assessed by doing nerve conduction studies.
