default
Posted on Thu, 13 Nov 2014
Question: hi, I have a question. the last day now I have frequent urge to urinate and not much comes out.. and when I wipe myself there is a light pinkish blood. 8 months ago I had the same symptoms and went to the doctor. she did a urine test and it was negative for an infection. then she sent me for an ultrasound and that showed only a small fibroid. then it went away and now I have it back only this time with the pinkish blood when I wipe. and it hurts more at the end of when I am peeing. what should I do?

Brief Answer:
Could be due to Cystitis.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for your query, Based on the symptoms that you have posted it seems that you have infection of the bladder (Cystitis).

Urine analysis at times does not reveal presence of infection in such a situation doing Urine culture is the only confirmative test to detect the presence of bacteria causing the infection and antibiotics to which they are sensitive to.

Please get it done .In the mean while start taking antibiotic like Cefexime and Nitrofurantoin along with urinary anti spasmodics like Flavoxate twice daily Later on switch on to appropriate antibiotic as per culture report..

Ensure to drink more water so as to keep urine alkaline and dilute.

Hope I have answered your query . Please feel to ask if you have more questions .I shall be happy to address the same and help you.
Thanking you with Regards.
