What Causes Pain And Discomfort In The Tailbone Area?

default
Posted on Mon, 1 Aug 2016
Question: I've had tailbone/coxic pain for three months now. There is no visible swelling and I don't have any blood in stools. I have a pressure around the tail bone area when passing stools. I've been to my doctor and they did 2 blood tests that both came back with slightly out of range on the liver but they said all ok and nothing to worry about. They said there's no point with an x Ray.
I've been to a chiropractor and
They think im getting pain from anxiety.
I'm now on on a drug called Lyrica and I've got an appointment with a physio and councillor.
My worry is if it is a chordoma or some kind of tumour and I'm all so worried that they aren't taking this seriously.
I have pain when sitting. It's a dull ache. I cannot pin point how this injury occurred. I can't remember falling etc
I hope you can help me as I'm very concerned.
I'm a 31 year old male and this is really worrying me.

Brief Answer:
Coccydynia needs lifestyle modification, Ganglion impar block

Detailed Answer:
Hi there.

Thanks for the query.

Yes, you do have Coccydynia.

You need to rule certain precautions for a better response to the therapy.

Use a soft donut cushion to sit on. Eat a diet rich in fresh fruits and green leafy vegetables. Drink plenty of water. Avoid constipation. Do daily brisk walking exercise for 45 minutes.

Do daily Sitz bath in XXXXXXX warm water with added salt daily for half an hour.

If this therapy along with Naproxen isn't doing good in a couple of months, you can consider getting a Ganglion impar block, which will help cure the pain by destroying the pain sensitive nerve near the coccyx by an injection.

I hope I have answered your query.

I will be available to answer your follow up queries.

Brief Answer:
Not Chordoma

Detailed Answer:
This is definitely not Chordoma. You would be having neurological symptoms as well in that case which are more troublesome.
