the rush feeling was like a sudden strong warm feeling that started in upper abdomen below breast bone and radiated toward the left side of my body. It lasted for about 2-5 minutes and then I felt cold, some heart racing and kind of fuzzy on the inside of my body, not my head. then I needed to have a bowel movement. this all took place in about 30 minutes. after that I was able to sleep. This morning at 6:30 I felt slightly uncomfortable in my upper abdomen and had one more bowel movement. At about 8:15 and 9:00 I felt another feeling of warm rushing starting in my abdomen again, but only mildly. It went away after about 30 seconds to a minute. there was some dizziness with that feeling. i have some tension in my upper mid back right now. There is no fever and no diarrhea. I am not on any medications and am not diabetic. I have had some history with similar symptoms, but in the past there were definite heart palpitations. these happened about 5 years ago. I had many heart tests: EKG, echo, stress-echo, halter monitor. All were normal, so it was diagnosed as anxiety. I am wheat sensitive so have been on a gluten/wheat free diet for about 4 years. Yesterday I did have a diet cola which is not my normal routine. We had ring bologna (gluten free), asparagus cooked in olive oil and raw cucumbers and carrots for dinner. I had a small glass of red wine and water, cup of decaf coffee with cream. Thank you for your help!
Brief Answer:
Most probably gluten containing food has causes discomfort
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thank you for getting back with the detailed response. I have gone through it. There is high possibility that you took certain diet which contained gluten derivative resulting in abdominal discomfort and bowel urgency. This was probably aggravated by stress/anxiety. If i were your treating doctor then i would have advised following things:
- First & most important; do NOT take stress. Stress only aggravates problem. You'll be fine in few days. Your cardiac labs came back normal which is a good sign.
- metronidazole thrice a day for 3 days
- drotaverine twice a day for 3 days
- if you have chronic stress/anxiety problem then you can visit a psychiatrist to get a prescription of anxiolytics, with which you will observe huge improvement regarding anxiety.
* certain medicines are prescription drugs so you'll have to visit a local doctor to get it.
