What Causes Pain And Enlargement In Testicles?

Question: Last month I have pain and enlargement in both testicles .my doc prescribed me banocide forte and in 3 weeks the pain is very less but not fully gone moreover it has now just shifted to left testicle only that olso very minimum pain for how much more time should I continue the drug??

Hi
As per your description, it looks like Infection of both testicles.
Banocide forte will work effectively in Filarial infection of the testicles.
I prescribe Antibiotic like Cefuroxime tablet,anti inflammatory tablet along with Banocide forte to my patients with similar complaints.
If the response is delayed, I will ask for Colour doppler of the Scrotum for exact diagnosis.

okay thank you sir very much but i would like to knw its causes so that in future i can take care of that . more over will it affect my fertility?
and please tell me that this is not going to affect anything else.??
and sometimes i feel a tinch of pain at right side just a tinch that is a pain for few seconds and then it goes off.. what is it ?

It could be due to infection.

Hi
Testis will get enlarged and painful due to infection.
It doesn't affect your fertility or Sexual activity.
As you said earlier, you had pain and swelling in both testicles. There might be some residual infection on right side.
There are no specific measures to prevent this infection.

as per your suggestion i am continuing the drug and now the pain on left side have vanished off and there is slight pain on the right side(that also i am not sure weather it is in testis or nearby) my mobility has increased i can now take brisk walks also.i would like to know that how much more time will it take to fully recover or gt its roots off. coz it makes me feel slight in secure and a feeling of afraid and anxiety prevails when i walk or when i drive on bike. and yes does it is due to genetic reasons coz my dad had filaria on his leg. and is it due to winters that it is taking a bit longer time?? if possible then prescribe me a better medicine that would help to get the problem solved fast.

Hi
Time for complete resolution cannot be predicted.
Sometimes, it may go into Chronic phase and may take several months.
Epididymis is present above testis.It might have enlarged and led to Epididymitis.
There are no medicines specifically to relieve the symptoms fast.
You can use Diethyl Carbamazine (DEC)100ml thrice daily. Please note that this is a prescription drug.
