Throat inflammation due to GERD
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I have gone through your medical history carefully and can say as following:
You have a personal history of GERD. This is often associated with chronic inflammation of the throat. This explains what you're feeling.
Dominating GERD will also help improve your throat inflammation.
Solid foods are advised to soften and chew up slowly to help their sooth passage through the throat.
When throat is inflamed, it will be difficult to swallow foods., especially when they are solid.
If you have not had any recent medical consultation, I advise to :
- get throat swab culture
- check further with ENT specialist
- reconsider treatment of GERD
Diet is extremely important, so, try to follow as rigorously as you can.
Hope it was of help!

I generally eat a fairly soft diet as I have bilateral custom joint prosthetics in my jaw.
I have not brought it up to my GP as it seems when I am there it feels ok so, I have just let it go.
I am concerned although as I have been a smoker for 35 yrs. and there is that concern about throat cancer. I certainly don't want to end up like the movie critic Gene Siskel or maybe it was XXXXXXX Ebert who had his lower mandible removed and he died anyway.
Thanks for the answer.
Symptoms not related to cancer, regular check ups advised
Detailed Answer:
Hi back my dear,
The vomit tasting liquid you wake up in the morning is stomach acid, explaining the irritation you feel at the same time.
Being careful with what you eat at dinner will help reduce overnight hyperacidity. Increasing water intake can also help together with take antacids at bedtime and after meal.
From what I've noted so far, what you are currently experiencing is not related to cancer. However, frequent check up with gastroenterologist are recommended.
Everyone has his/her own fate to live. So, try to live your own life without thinking of others illness.
Candida overgrowth of the GI tract is to be also determined through oral swab culture.
All the best.
