Question : Pain in abdomin near sternum and to left, sore as if punched. Feels like there is some sort of blockage there, as sometimes food feels like it gets stuck there, even happens with liquids. But, doesn't happens all the time. Seems to cause pressure on diaphragm near heart area. Currently taking omeprizol for acid reflux. Have been prescribed 2 times the dosage. Didn't change for 3 days. Pain is now bearable. But, comes in waves. Getting so bad it makes me feel like I'm going to pass out. Makes me feel weak, feel like just lying down and not being able to function. Have noticed some stomach bloating. Feel like I'm full, even if I have not had anything to eat. I eat because I know I have too, not because I feel like eating. Only relief is by drinking something carbonated, which causes me to belch, this seems to relieve some pressure in the stomach area with the soreness. Have had gall bladder removed several years ago. Also getting headaches at same time, when I rarely have had headaches in the past.

Hello.
Your pain as you suspect is most likely due to stomach or esophagus (food pipe) problems. But you should still get an Xray chest and ECG done to rule out issues of the heart and lung. For the Upper GI tract please get an Upper GI Endoscopy done. This will clearly show what the problem is.
Your medication is fine. Continue Cap Omeprazole 20 mg twice a day on empty stomach half hour before meals. And you should add on Tab Domperidone thrice daily. This should give you better relief. For the pain take Tab Paracetamol 500mg as and when it is unbearable.
