Brief Answer:
You could try other neuropathic pain medicines.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for posting your query.

I am Dr Sudhir Kumar, Neurologist, and would try my best to help you.

I have noted your clinical details and side effects due to neurontin.

Neurontin (gabapentin) is known to produce swelling in a small proportion of patients. Swelling disappears in most people within a few days of stopping neurontin. In some people, a diuretic (drugs causing more urine formation) such as furosemide may be needed to reduce swelling.

For pain, you could take other medicines such as lyrica or cymbalta. However, start with a low dose to ensure there are no side effects.

I hope my answer helps. Please get back if you have any follow up queries or if you require any additional information.

Wishing you good health,
