Question: The bottom of my left foot, on the pad below the pinkie toe is swollen. It just came up after working out. Nothing hurt during the workout, but when I came home I sat down for about 20 minutes, and when I got up it was swollen and tender to walk on.
Brief Answer:
Likely to be due to an infection.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
I have seen the image attached. The swelling is likely to be due to an infection in the area or abscess formation. The pus inside may need to be drained with a small XXXXXXX in case the pain and swelling are gradually increasing.
This will need anti inflammatory medicines like ibuprofen and oral antibiotics to control the infection. The presence of any foreign body in the area needs to be ruled out after a direct examination.
It is best to consult a doctor for proper management and antibiotics. Till then doing a hot fomentation in the area and avoiding bearing weight on the foot will help.
I hope this answers your query.
In case you have additional questions or doubts, you can forward them to me, and I shall be glad to help you out.
Wishing you good health.
