What Causes Pain At The Base Of Dental Crown Post Root Canal Treatment?

Yes, it is fairly possible that the pain originates from the same area
Detailed Answer:
Dr. Hanif warmly Welcomes you to my virtual clinic HCM!
I have carefully worked through your case, and can realize your health worries. Being your physician, I will take care all of your medical concerns.
Yes the pain may originate directly from the area of previous manipulation by the dentist for root canal. What happens is, if the procedure of root canal is not done successfully, it leads to sensitivity some day after the procedure. Feeling of sensitivity at the same area shows there is problem in the area of root canal. And pain usually at night is due to the fact that food particles remain impacted in the holes of teeth and they start the decay process and pain originates in already defective dental areas.
That's why I say to my patients to do dental floss "every tooth, everyday".
Before going to bed the last thing you have to do is: Toothbrush with Sensodyne toothpaste. It is a good toothpaste for sensitive teeth and bleeding and receding gums. And after the breakfast, you have to do the toothbrush again.
You may floss after any toothbrush as per your ease. Change your toothbrush every month. Movements when brushing should be upside down and downside up to make sure space in between the teeth is also properly cleaned. and gums/teeth junction is securely cleaned. Don't do it with much pressure.
Do Listerine mouthwash gargles too. If I was your treating physician I would have prescribed you with Ibuprofen and Augmentin by mouth to resolve inflammation and infection to aid in fast recovery and to cover periodontal disease.
This all will make you feel better in no time. If you feel pain again after completion of the medications then you have to go for a second opinion.
Have a wonderful time ahead. Hope I answered all of your questions. Let me know if you have any further clinical concerns or doubts. I will be more than happy to get back to you in no time. If satisfied here, please give a generous five star rating and don't forget to close the discussion.
For any disease you have, a timely follow-up after sometime regarding the treatment efficacy and to see any need to change the treatment options is very necessary. Keep a follow up some days after this visit session ends.
Regards!
