What Causes Pain, Bruising And Swelling In The Temple Region?

Question: This morning I woke up with lots of pain and some bruising on my left temple near eye. There is some swelling and it is increasingly more painful. I didn't hit anything though. What could be the cause and should I be concerned.

Pain, bruising and swelling at temple starting suddenly, may be caused by insects bite, since you exclude trauma.

A picture of the lesion could give valuable information about the cause.

Since the pain is increasing, an evaluation by your primary care Doctor is necessary because in some cases, infection may develop and appropriate treatment is necessary.

I looked at the picture you updated.

Seems to me like insect bite.

Local application of alcohol compresses besides ice and Tylenol should help in reducing swelling and pain.

Ibuprofen could be used in place of Tylenol.
