so you can not tell me what it possibly can be ?
Brief Answer:
Get the following tests done as soon as possible.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thank you for writing back.
1. The following tests need to be conducted immediately:
a. The type of leucocytosis. For example, increased lymphocytes would be seen in chronic infections such as tuberculosis, lymphomas and lymphocytic leukemias.
b. A repeat ultrasound to check any increase in size of the neck lump. CT/MRI Scanning can also be done now.
c. An FNAC (Fine Needle Aspiration Cytology) to confirm the diagnosis. The tongue swelling needs examination or a biopsy if inconclusive.
d. A Coagulogram to check if he has developed a bleeding tendency. This happens when the normal production of blood components in the bone marrow is overrun by the excess production of the leukocytes.
2. All these investigations should not take more than a day or two and will give a confirmed diagnosis so that treatment can commence.
