What Causes Pain In Armpits And Behind Knees?

Question: My 4 1/2 year old just woke up crying saying she was in pain. It hurts under armpits and behind knees but she won't let me move her to check. She can't answer my questions well or describe other than it hurts.
Brief Answer:
could be cramps or myalgia
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for writing to us.
From your description it looks like your child has possibly muscle cramps. Did she play for long before sleep ?
It could also.be growing pain which is common at this age. Bones grow at the ends. This pain usually happens in knees shoulder and elbows. This growing pain will settle by itself .
For her pain relief you can give paracetamol or acetaminophen
Dehydration too can cause cramps
Ensure plenty of liquid intake for hydration
Pain due to excessive physical activity will.settle with rest and hydration.
If pain doesn't settle or if you find any swelling near the pain site take to doctor.
Wishing speedy recovery.

This morning she allowed me to take pics, she hasn't been in any pain since waking up. After seeing images what do you think?
Brief Answer:
Dont find swelling
Detailed Answer:
I dont see any swelling , dont worry
It could just be cramps or growth pain
Give paracetamol if pain recurs.
