What Causes Pain In Ear,throat And Tongue?
Question: Intermitten pain behind left ear & also in throat & tongue
Brief Answer:
infection
Detailed Answer:
Hello and thanks for using healthcaremagic,
From your symptoms it looks like you are suffering from upper respiratory tract infection.
Do not worry.
You can take a pain killer like tylenol or ibuprofen after checking the dose.
You should instill decongestant nose drops like otrivin. It helps to open the eustachian tubes which in turn alleviates the pain in the ears. Instill 3 drops
in each nostril 3 times a day for 6 days and follow it up with steam.
If you do not feel better in 2 more days then you need to see a doctor because you may need a course of antibiotics.
Till then do warm salt water gargling 4 times a day and avoid airconditioning and cold foods.
Regards,
Dr Rajkishori Godhi.
