Question: I just had a weird episode. My fingers were cold from outside. As they warmed up it became very painful. Then I got dizzy and sick to my stomache. My heart beat increased and then I broke out in a sweat. Then I got really cold.

Brief Answer:
You need urgent medical attention

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.

I have gone through the description and it seems consistent with a medical entity called shock which occurs due to low blood volume. The peripheral blood vessels are constricted and hence the fingers feel cold from outside. The constriction of the blood vessels on the other hand is responsible for the pain. The dizziness is due to inadequate amounts of blood reaching the brain. The heart beats more so that it can make best use of the blood volume that is there.

You need to visit the emergency of a hospital without delay. Alternatively call the emergency hotline and get urgent intervention. Keep warm till then and drink plenty of fluids, preferably ORS (oral rehydration solution).
