Question: when I relax my whole stomach contracts. It's not painful, but looks odd and I can't sleep as it can last for hours at a time. Doctor doesn't know what it is. Also my left foot is extremely painful mainly around the heel area. It started by being very tender when I went t the bathroom at night with no shoes on, the bottom of my foot was painful, my heel was worse. One morning my foot seemed to explode with pain, it was agony. Had to use a crutches for about three weeks. I was given cymbalta which seems to deaden the pain, but it's still painful. some days are worse than others, which is odd. I can't walk barefooted anymore, last time I did my foot was worse again for a few weeks. The doctor says he's no idea what it is. I'd love some help

Hi
Welcome to Healthcare-Magic
Greetings of the day
Let me come first to complaint of pain in foot. Presence of pain in foot with inability to place it Ground point towards possibility of plantar fascitis as the cause provided plantar abscess has been ruled out. The sole of foot has a thick fascia known as plantar fascia, inflammation of which may cause severe pain especially at the heal area. Diagnosis is made by good clinical examination and demonstration of tender points. Also if there is fullness in the sole abscess has to be ruled out by getting Ultrasound of foot.
In the meantime analgesic like Ibuprofen and local application of Ice may provide the much needed relief.
Coming to complaint of contracting stomach, if the following criteria are fulfilled there is no cause for concern
1. No vomiting/nausea
2. No loss of weight
3. No pain in abdomen or Retrosternal burning pain
4. No loss of appetite
5. No alteration in bowel habits
I would suggest you the following
1. Small quantity frequent meals
2. Avoid spicy and oily food
3. Drink plenty of water : 2 to 3 liter of water per day
4. High fiber diet
If the symptoms of upper abdomen persists, you will require upper gastrointestinal endoscopy for further evaluation.
In case you require any further assistance, will be glad to assist you.
Take care
