What Causes Pain In Groin While Walking?

Question: I walk on a treadmill 5-6 days each week with a weighted vest on. For about a month or two, my groin has hurt pretty severely at times when walking. Especially if stepping down or up. The pain will come and be almost unbearable and then subside if I make myself continue walking. It comes and goes. Any ideas?
Brief Answer:
muscular pain most likely
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thank you for contacting HCM. From the history you provide, it does look like muscular pain. Although it has taken a little long to resolve but you should probably follow graduated increase in exercise format rather than abruptly going on to intense exercise. You should continue your exercise. If the pain is really unbearable, you can use pain killers like acetaminophen along with muscle relaxants like orphanedrine. If you start exercising in a set protocol under the guidance of an instructor or look at some videos from youtube, that would be a better idea.It doesn't look like something great to worry. Hope it helps.

There is a pee sized small lump just over my testicle but not attached to the testicle. Could this be the problem?
I have been exercising intensely for years so do not understand why now the stepping up and down causes shooting pain in the groin.

Brief Answer:
it could be hernia
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
With you saying there is a lump just over testicle, I would like you to get evaluated for hernia although your symptoms are not very classical. Usually hernia is more prominent when the abdominal pressure increases. One of the methods to evaluate a hernia which in your case we would specifically like to look for inguinal hernia is to do a cough test. We ask a patient to cough to see if the hernia protrudes. If you are saying you are used to exercise, then yes your pee sized mass does need to be evaluated and for the hernia being prior to everything. I hope it helps.
