I now have scabs in my scalp so I am assuming it has moved there also. with cellulitis, is it common for the hair follicles in your scalp to be painful also? I have attached a pic of my ear lobe with a sore still there. I have not been diagnosed with diabetes. I did lose my job 2 months ago and have had stress from that. My hair follicles in my scalp are very sensitive. Just wanting to know if this is all part of cellulitis or possibly some other issue. I have not had any lab work performed due to no insurance. Some areas around my ear is sensitive to the touch also but not as painful as my scalp.

- Cellulitits is characterized by swelling, pain, redness. It is mostly localized to hair follicle.
If you have anything else to ask I will be very happy to answer that.
Thank you,

Thank you for your continued support. Having no insurance, I do not want to go back to urgent care if not necessary. A few more questions...I basically still have cellulitis. My medication Clindamycin HCL runs out tomorrow, Sunday. I still have scabs in my scalp and feel tenderness in my hair follicles. Do I need to go back to the doctor or is this something that just takes time and have to deal with it for the course of the illness? Does Cellulitis take a while to go away? I would say it is not spreading or getting worse but the headache from the hair follicles is getting very annoying. How much time should I give this?
