Hello
Thanks for the query
It is possible that you are experiencing referred pain. But before brushing it off as referred pain I would like to know a few more details
1. Do you experience pain in the hands while holding objects for a long time , eg while holding a newspaper
2. is the pain pins and needles type or a dull aching type ?
3. if possible could you please attach a photo of your palms so that I can examine your muscles?
please get back to me, I am awaiting your reply

Referred pain means pain of an organ being experienced somewhere else. A classic example being pain of appendicitis being experienced around the umbilicus.
However in your case I think the pain is coming from small muscles of the hand. My suggestions to you are as follows
1. Watch for pain for another week and it's progression. If the pain subsides then you can leave it alone
2. If the pain progresses then i suggest that you meet a neurologist for a Enmg and biopsy of the small muscles if required
I have had patients before with similar problems, most patients recovered spontaneously, it is quite hard to explain why this happens.
I hope I was of help
