
What Causes Pain In Left Outer Ankle With No Trauma?

Question: Hello, pain in left outer ankle, no trauma, no swelling, no discoloration. Slight pain to touch, extreme pain when rotating, slight pain lifting foot up and down. I am 27 yrs old. Very painful to walk. Occurred overnight.

Thank you. It is my first episode. I am not an alcoholic and don't smoke. I have one or two beers a week. I am not taking any medication for pain. The ankle is not swollen, there are no visual signs of any problem.

I believe it is non specific ankle synovitis. I would suggest you to do following things.
1. Rest and avoid putting weight.
2. Tablet Brufen daily twice after discussing with your doctor.
3. Voletran ointment
4. Hot water fomentation
5. Compression bandage.
