What Causes Pain In Left Side Abdomen While Sitting And Lying Down?
Question: I have a pain in my left side. It only hurts when I'm in certain conditions of sitting and lying down. I can sleep on the side where the pain is but when I try to sleep on the other side the other side hurts. I have been to my local clinic twice. First time they said it was a kidney infection prescribing antibiotics and pain pills. After taking all meds, pain or I should say discomfort in my side was still there. When to the doctor again seveal days later and was told, maybe it was not a kidney infection and muscle spasms instead. At the same time I was diagnosed with sinusitis and beginning of upper respiratory infection. More antibiotics, steroid pills and cough medicine. It is 5 days later and I still have the discomfort in my side. In addition for the last several days, my feet have been cold and I have had long periods of sweating when I am not hot. Tonight I was in a room where others had on jackets and seems comfortable. I had to pull off my sweater and start fanning myself. I was most uncomfortably warm and sweating when everyone else seemed to be comfortable. Any ideas?
Brief Answer:
Orthopedic Evaluation
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Where do you have the pain when you sit and lie down?
You should meet an orthopedic surgeon(bone specialist) and Endocrinologist (Menopause specialist) to figure out what is going on with you. It might be Osteoporosis or loss of bone tissue pining on the nerves and muscles.
You may need an MRI of the lower spine and the hip.
Menopause is one thing that comes to my mind about the constant fanning while you sweat and others are comfortable.
As we evaluate physically more possibilities can evolve.
So please see the doctors mentioned above.
Let me know their thoughts as well.
