Question: I AM70 AND HAVE HAD A PAIN IN LEFT SIDE FOR 4 OR 5 DAYS ITS AT THE WAIST AND A LITTLE TO THE FRONT, I ALSO HAVE A LOT OF GAS AND BOWEL MOVEMENT A DOZEN TIMES A DAY WITH MUCUS....I HAVE HAD DIVERTICULATIS (I know that's not spelled right) about 4 years ago and kinda reminds me of that

Brief Answer: looks like gastroenteritis Detailed Answer: Hi, Thanks for writing to HCM. Your symptoms looks very much suggestive of gastroenteritis (food poisoning). You need to take a course of antibiotic like metronidazole and a preprobiotic to replenish goog gut bacterial flora. But for the prescription you will have to see your local doctor.
