Question: What is causing the pain in my left testicle and down the left side of the shaft of my penis?
I am a 37 yr old married guy. I have been with my wife 11 yrs married almost 8. Im pretty sure it isnt an STD.
About 2 weeks ago I began getting pain in left side of shaft of my penis and constantly had to urinate. Or had the feeling but didnt go very much. Naturally I assumed it was a stone as I have had one before. I still haven't peed one out and now I am getting pain in my left testicle as well. Plus I am peeling a normal amount when I go now but the pain in shaft remains and has now also moved Into left testicle.

Brief Answer:
Get Ultrasound done. could be stone or infection

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX Such pain does occur in a low lying stone. Given your history it could possibly be a stone. So please see your Doctor and get an Ultrasound arranged as well as a Urine test amd culture. The situation will be clear after that. Till then increase your fluid intake and you can have analgesics or pain killer medicines. But fix an appointment early. Feel free to ask any questions that you might have. We would be happy to answer. If not then please help us by rating the answer. Take care.

Why would I not feel it moving down at all and why would I not have any blockage when peeling if its a stone? I still thought that is what it had to be until the testicle pain and the fact that I began urinating normally even though pain stayed made me concerned.

Brief Answer:
We dont feel stones moving..They wont cause obstruction.

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX You dont feel it moving down because as the stone moves down the location of the pain changes and there is no sensation of the moving as such. The urinary tract does not percieve movement as our skin does. It only senses pain when it distends due to an obstruction beyond. We come to know about the movement by the difference in location of the pain.
There is no blockage as the stone is not in your Urethra or the urine passing tube. It would be at the lower end of the tube connecting the kidney with the urinary bladder called the Ureter. As the bladder and the other ureter would be normal there would be no urinary blockage.
So please get an Ultrasound arranged in consultation with your Doctor and if it is normal then we need not worry.
Take care. Dr Rishi.
