What Causes Pain In Leg While On Zetia?
The pain is not continuous. I do take statins and 81 mg aspirin. Could it be Zetia? I do not have any swelling or redness in the leg, no burning.
Suspecting venous insufficiency, side effect, circulatory abnormality
Detailed Answer:
Hello ma'am and welcome.
Thank you for writing to us.
I have gone through your query with diligence and would like you to know that I am here to help. Taking into consideration the fact that you do have an abnormal lipid profile, could be the problem itself which may be resulting in a circulatory abnormality.
Muscle pain is a common side effect of Zetia, but I would consider that only after a particular investigation called a Doppler colour ultrasound of your leg which will provide us with information on the blood vessels in your leg. If at all the Doppler shows an abnormality, then we can accordingly address the problem; but if it returns a normal result then we can experiment with substituting the zetia with another drug.
I would first recommend the Doppler ultrasound and then go about a blood investigation to check on your lipid profile along with the a blood coagulation profile; we can also speak to your doctor about initiating a medication called Daflon (containing 90 % dismiss and 10 % hesperidin); this helps to increase resistance in small blood vessels and helps prevent pain and helps treating conditions like venous insufficiency. Please feel free to write back to me for any further clarifications, I would be more than happy to help.
Best wishes.
A neurologist should look into this, he should be able to help
Detailed Answer:
Hello once again ma'am.
No urgent attention required, but attention will be required. A neurologist will look into all circulation-related issues, and should be able to prescribe the Daflon as well as have the equipment to go about the Doppler ultrasound as well.
I hope this helps. Please also do not hesitate to write back to me for any further clarifications, I am always here to help.
Best wishes.
